Mayor Munjirin Wants to Ignite Enthusiasm for Independence Day Celebration in E. Jakarta

East Jakarta Mayor, Munjirin, wants the celebration of Indonesia's 80th Independence Day to be lively in his jurisdiction.

This is important to instill a sense of nationalism 

Therefore, he asked all stakeholders in East Jakarta to hold various events that can remind people of the spirit of the independence struggle and nationalism.

"Whether in government offices, private companies, or villages, they must be decorated with traditional seven-month ornaments," he expressed, Friday (8/8).

He explained, various competitions to celebrate Indonesia's Independence Day should also be held, including involving the youth and children.

"This is important to instill a sense of nationalism from a young age and to remember the contributions of our heroes, including our founding fathers," he explained.

His party will also hold various competitions, including a fishing contest that he will participate in.

"And also, inter-district volleyball competitions, badminton tournaments, bird singing contests, office decoration competitions, and the arrangement of protocol routes by the village and district administrations," he explained.

He reminded that this must be used as a momentum to fill independence with various positive activities.

"We must also make a meaningful contribution following our field of expertise or profession so that it benefits the nation and country," he said.
